Finding a Michelin star rated or famous chef’s restaurant in New York City is not hard, but finding one with a completely private dining room, a unique menu and somewhere that foodie’s of Manhattan want to visit is a bit more complex. After hosting over 15 dinners in NYC, here are the top recommendations from an event planning company:
#1 Eleven Madison
Eleven Madison is one of the most prestigious dining institutions in Manhattan. Just some of it’s most recent accolades include: #1 on the Top 50 Restaurants in the World, Three Michelin Stars, James Beard Award winning Chef, Daniel Humm, #1 on S. Pellegrino’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants and the Top Ranked restaurant in the Flatiron District on Zagat.
The private dinner we hosted there was in the upstairs private dining room – perfect for our group of 20 people that needed to be at one table, but could work for larger groups as well. The room was 100% private with it’s own kitchen and bar keeping service top notch. The ambience included intricate floral displays and candles and since our event was during the winter, pine trees and white lights accented the space nicely.
The outstanding food and wine outpaced the décor as our guests feasted on duck, redfish and filet from a custom menu. You’ll see from the photos below the delicate plating and unique dishes that were served. One of our guests was quoted saying the event was a “Flawless Evening."
#2 Per Se
Per Se is Chef Thomas Keller’s New York response to the famous French Laundry restaurant in Napa Valley, CA. Per Se is in the heart of Manhattan’s midtown, Time Warner Building, and our group had the pleasure of experiencing cocktails and delicious nibbles of chilled lobster with avocado toast and wagyu beef tartare in the Garden, which has a full view of the NYC skyline.
The culinary adventure continued from the Garden to the West Room, which again is 100% private and can accommodate up to 26 people at one table. Guests dined on the custom tasting menu featuring: hand made sweet corn agnolotti, the option of Chilean Sea Bass or Calotte de Bouef and a dessert of religieuse.
Not only was the food and view a hit with our guests, the staff was top notch from booking our event to top tier dining service during the event. If you’re looking for a one of a kind downtown view, delicious food, extensive wine list and 5 star service – Per Se is your answer.
#3 21 Club
The 21 Club is most famous for hosting some of New York’s most famous celebrities and politicians. The restaurant is over 90 years old and with that comes a great amount of history. 21 Club found a permanent home in 1929 at the peak of the prohibition era.
Due to this history, the private wine cellar was created and hidden behind an invisible door in a brick wall. This private wine cellar is where we have hosted many of our intimate CIO dinners. Some notables that have sat in that private cellar where we dined included: Sinatra, Hemingway, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor and at least 4 US Presidents (Nixon, Ford, Kennedy and Trump).
